The Village at Ford's Colony - Sustainable Site Design
Realtec and Cahill Associates have teamed together to take extraordinary measures in protecting the environment in The Village.
These protective measures include:
- Infiltration based storm water management system by using underground retention/infiltration, bio-retention, vegetated swales, rain gardens, pervious pavement, and rain barrels
- Expanded buffers for Powhatan Creek
- All environmental studies performed at beginning of process
- Nutrient management plan, a water conservation plan, sustainable building practices, natural resources policy, and a stream monitoring plan is currently being proposed

- Strategic plans for water
